VCHD Cargo dates its history back to 1997, when the shipping company Východočeská dopravní a.s. was founded in Havlíčkův Brod. It gradually developed its offer of transport services and related services for hauliers and motorists. In response to the demand of international clients, it introduced a quality management system in 2001 and was certified according to ISO 9001: 2000.
The following year VCHD Cargo won the tender for the privatisation of the ČSAD branch in Havlíčkův Brod, which was integrated into its services. In 2005–2006, the company invested in the reconstruction of the administrative building in Havlíčkův Brod and put an automatic car wash for cars and trucks in commission. It expanded its activities in 2007 by establishing another branch in Kladno in Central Bohemia.
In 2014, VCHD Cargo founded the Food Distribution division for temperature controlled food transport and a year later served 20 regular European lines in Europe.
The year 2016 was a big milestone in the history of the company – the branch in Kladno moved to new premises and the company established a new branch in Brno. In the same year the company changed its name to VCHD Cargo a.s. – after 2011, the focus of the company on domestic clients transformed to the focus on international clients and for them the new business name is easier to understand and remember.
In 2019, the sister company VCHD Cargo GmbH was registered in Germany, which enabled the company to offer German national transport and the first vehicles with German license plates were put into operation.
In 2021, VCHD Cargo announced the acquisition of the German forwarding company Völker Logistik. This is the largest investment in the company’s history, which will strengthen its position in the largest logistics market in Europe.
